Men's Basketball League
DESCRIPTION: The Men's Basketball League will consist of one age 18 and over open adult league on Tuesday night. The league will have seven (7) teams, playing 5 on 5. The league will run two "round robins" and a single elimination playoff of the top four teams. Players must be 18 years old or older. The league will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
DATES/TIMES/LOCATION: Games will be played Tuesday evenings at the Durgee Junior High School Gym. Game times are 7:00, 8:00 or 9:00pm. The league is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 21 and be completed by mid-late February.
REGISTRATION: Those interested in registering a team may call ahead to inquire as to openings (call 638-4727, weekdays), but the league will be filled only as payments are received. ALL FEES MUST BE PAID BY FRIDAY, October 10th AT 4:00pm.
** A minimum of five (5) players per team is mandatory, and the maximum per team is 15 players.
LEAGUE FEES: The league fee is $300.00 TOTAL, and consists of:
* Registration Fee (non-refundable) = $200.00 per team. This fee covers trophies, equipment, and administrative expenses.
* Forfeit fee = $60.00 per team. This fee is used to pay the officials and scorekeepers in the event of a forfeit. In the event of a forfeit, the fee MUST be replenished by the forfeiting team before the next scheduled game. The forfeit fee is fully refunded at the end of the season, provided that the final game is not forfeited!
* Performance Bond = $40.00 per team. Used for fines for the following:
Unrostered players* = $5.00 per player
Unsportsmanlike Conduct, Ejection from a game, Harassing scorekeepers, staff, and/or officials = Fee to be determined by officials and league coordinator.
The Performance Bond will be refunded in whole, in part, or not at all, depending on any fines.
** ALL FEES MUST BE PAID TO VAN BUREN PARKS AND RECREATION BY October 10th. If paying by check, please make check payable to the Town of Van Buren.
GAME FEES: (not included in registration fee above - to be paid at each game):
* IAABO Officials = $30.00 per game
* Scorekeeper = $ 4.00 per game
