The Northwest Fire District will hold their annual election of Board of Commissioners on December 8, 2015 from 6 to 9 pm at the Lysander Fire Station Number 1 at 664 Lamson Road, Baldwinsville.  Candidates should file their names with the district no later than November 18th

The Van Buren Town Board will hear comments on a proposed zone change on December 1st at 7:30 pm for property north of Walters and Winchell Roads from PUD to IND A

Applications for Building Permits can be dropped off to the Codes Office or E-Mailed at  Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 4:00pm

Completed applications need to be submitted 24 hours prior to the issuance of the permit.  No permits are issued on Fridays, so please plan ahead.

If your project requires plumbing or electrical work, additional permits will be required to be submitted along with the application.

The Van Buren Town Board has approved bonding in the amount of $200,000 for roof and boiler repairs at Town Hall and up to two million dollars for acquisition and rehabilitation of a new building for highway garage use.  These are subject to permissive referendum.  There will be no increase to taxes as a result of these infrastructure improvements.

The Northwest Fire District will hold a public hearing on December 4th at 7 pm at the Lysander Fire Station, 664 Lamson Rd. Baldwinsville, to hear comments on transferring $34,000 from the Repair Reserve Fund to the operating fund for repair or replacement of boiler at Lysander Fire Station No. 1 not to exceed $18,000 and repairs to Water Rescue 2 not to exceed $16,000

Please remember there is no on street parking November 15th through April 15th on any town roads between 2 and 6 am.

The Comprehensive Land Use Committee Meeting will be held on November 24th from 7 to 9 pm at the Van Buren Town Hall.  Megan Costa from Onondaga County Planning will be in attendance.  The meeting was called by Chairman Geiss and is open to the public.
