Taken by appointment between the hours of 9:00am. and 4:00pm. * Must apply in person and together for the license. * License is good anywhere in New York State for 60 days. * 24 hour waiting period between time license is purchased and can be used. * Must be at least 18 years of age to apply (16 and 17 year olds must have parents written and notarized consent, form can be obtained at the Town Clerk’s office). * NYS Driver’s license, passport or military ID must be shown to prove age and identity. * Must show an original or certified copy of your birth certificate * If you have been divorced, you must furnish a copy of divorce papers for all previous marriages. These must be stamped by the County office where the papers are filed. * If you have been widowed, you need to bring the death certificate. * Blood tests are no longer required. * Cost of the license is $40.00.  It takes about 15 minutes to complete the application and you will leave with the license that day. * Please call the office at 315-635-3010 to make an appointment for the license, appts. taken between 9 am and 4:00 pm Marriage Transcripts If you obtained your original marriage license in Van Buren you can contact the office for a marriage transcript.  The cost is $10.00 for each transcript.
