The Van Buren Clerk’s office can issue Handicap Hangers for Town of Van Buren residents only. The application forms are available in our office or you can obtain forms and information by clicking HERE.   The applicant must compete Part I of the application.  Their physician must complete Part II and sign.  If applying for a temporary permit, your Doctor must specify an expiration date.  The date chosen must be the last day of the month. (Example: Temporary permit x3months, this is not acceptable, please let your doctor know) Once the application is complete you will need to bring it, along with your New York State Driver’s License or Non-Driver ID, to our office.  We are now required by law to indicate the last three digits of your ID number on the hanger.   There is no cost for hanger. Permanent hangers have a five year expiration.
