P/T Park Secretary position open to November 1st
PARK SUPERINTENDANT
TOWN OF VAN BUREN
Is currently seeking qualified candidates for the appointed position of Park Superintendent. Candidates must possess at least a two year degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Park and Recreation Management, Resource Management or a closely related field and one year professional level work experience in park operation, maintenance or management.
Duties include: interview, hire, supervise and direct perm and seasonal staff and maintenance staff. Develop and implement long-range plans for park program and facility improvements, develop recreational programs and oversee implementation, inspect maintenance projects for completion, prepare annual budget, public relations contact for Park Department, aid in development of all marketing material and plan/organize/promote special events. Must possess excellent grant writing abilities.
Proficient with MS Office and website maintenance, have excellent interpersonal, communication, management and organizational skills.
